  • Signs license agreement with Amgen for innovative treatment of diabetes and other metabolic disorders.
  • Creates Biovitrum Biopharmaceuticals, process development and contract manufacturing of protein-based drugs.

2004

  • Becomes sole supplier of the active protein component in Wyeth's Hemophilia drug ReFacto®

2005

  • Acquires Cambridge Biotechnology Ltd, a research company in the UK.
  • Expands the R&D portfolio by acquiring Arexis, a Swedish biotech and pharmaceutical company.
  • Enters collaboration with Santhera for the development of pharmaceuticals for the treatment of diabetes and other metabolic diseases.

2006

  • Enters agreement with Syntonix for the joint development of a pharmaceutical for the treatment of Hemophilia.
  • Enters agreement with Symphogen for the co-development of a pharmaceutical for the treatment of certain blood disorders.
  • Markets six specialist pharmaceuticals primarily in the Nordic countries (ReFacto®, Aloxi®, Novastan®, Mimpara®, Kepivance® and Kineret®).
